LONDON -(Dow Jones)- The chief executives of BP PLC (BP) and Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSB) are set to attend a meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries Sunday, spokespeople for the two companies said Wednesday. Jeroen van der Veer of Shell and Tony Hayward of BP are the latest chief executives of international oil majors to emerge as planned attendees at the meeting. Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest crude exporter, called the meeting last week in an effort to help stabilize global oil prices and to provide a forum for discussion for the heads of national and international oil companies.
