PARIS -(Dow Jones)- European airplane maker Airbus will see its labor force rise by about a net 1,500 people in 2008, despite substantive job cuts in parts of the firm, an executive at its parent company said Wednesday. Frederic Agenet, director of human resources for France at Airbus parent European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co. NV (5730.FR), said the overall Airbus headcount increase in 2008 will come about despite the fact the company is cutting jobs under its Power8 restructuring program revealed last year. Documents provided to a meeting of EADS' European works council Wednesday show that, by the end of May, 1,806 Airbus employees - or 41% of the planned 4,419 job cuts through 2010 - are no longer with the company.
