Vietnam To Build VND9 Trillion Suburban Railway System In Hanoi

HANOI -(Dow Jones)- Vietnam will invest VND9 trillion ($529 million) in building a suburban railway system in the capital city of Hanoi, the ruling Communist party said Tuesday.
The 13-kilometer elevated railway will stretch from the center of the city to the southwestern outskirts, the party said on its website, citing the Vietnam Railway Department.
The segment will be one of seven that will be built in the city.
Construction will begin within this year and be completed by 2014, it said.
