GENEVA (AFP)--Colombia signed a free trade agreement Tuesday with Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway - the four countries that make up the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The agreement was signed by Colombian Trade Minister Luis Guillermo Plata and the trade ministers of the four member states, EFTA said. "Ministers welcomed the strengthening of trade and economic relations with Colombia and are confident that the new trade opportunities would contribute to economic growth and development," the group said. Switzerland's Economy Ministry said the EFTA countries would now benefit from greater access to the Colombian market for industrial products, as well as processed agricultural goods and fish and other seafood. The agreement also covers services, intellectual property and technical cooperation, the ministry said in a statement. -Dow Jones Newswires, 201-938-5500 Click here to go to Dow Jones NewsPlus, a web front page of today's most important business and market news, analysis and commentary: http://www.djnewsplus.com/al?rnd=VNf1o8oJFnifzxvjBbgEew%3D%3D.
