MOSCOW (AFP)--Russia's secret services have arrested an ethnic-Georgian Russian army officer on spying charges, Russian news agencies reported Wednesday. "The Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a senior officer in the Russian army, Georgian native Mikhail Khachidze, on suspicion of spying for Georgia," Interfax news agency quoted an FSB official as saying. "An investigation yielded irrefutable evidence of his spying activities," the official said. Large numbers of Russian forces remain in Georgia after an Aug. 8 invasion that ended an offensive by the Tbilisi government on the Moscow-backed rebel region of South Ossetia.
