PARIS -(Dow Jones)- The French health authority Afssaps said Friday it has modified the summary of characteristics of the Sanofi-Aventis (SNY) marketed drug Acomplia. The analysis of statistics acquired over the last year confirms the safety profile of the drug, notably concerning the risk of side effects linked to depression, Afssaps said. Afssaps noted that the side effects appear mainly at the beginning of the treatment. The summary of characteristics of Accomplia now includes new warnings and monitoring recommendations, Afssaps said.
