ArcelorMittal: Expect 1Q To Be The Lowest Quarter In 09
The company's chief executive Lakshmi Mittal said that destocking, signs of improving emerging market demand and stimulus packages around the world will help support real steel demand.
Mittal said he expects real steel demand to fall 7% to 10% in 2009 and said demand could take 2.5 to 3 years to fully recover from the current slump.
