Chief executive Mike Daniell told a briefing on the company's first half result that gross margins in the half year to Sept. 30 were 55.3% compared with 53.6% over all of fiscal 2008.
"We are feeling that we can maintain that improvement, perhaps do just a little better in the second half given that we've got some quite positive gains in manufacturing efficiency, and also in product mix," Daniell said.
Earlier, the company, which sells products for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA, respiratory humidification systems and neonatal and warming products, said its first half net profit was up 51% in the six months ended Sept. 30 to NZ$28.3 million.
