WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Ronald A. Rosenfeld has resigned as chairman of the Federal Housing Finance Board, a federal agency announced Tuesday.
The Federal Housing Finance Board, which used to oversee the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks, merged into the new Federal Housing Finance Agency last summer, after the enactment of a new federal housing law.
FHFA Director James B. Lockhart praised Rosenfeld's leadership of the board, saying in a statement that he "demonstrated a commitment to public service throughout his career."
President George W. Bush appointed Rosenfeld as chairman of the board in December 2004.
