CNN-Turk reported that a strong explosion in the Turkish province of Mardin led to the fire.
"A fire began near the area of Midyat, but it has been brought under control," the local governor said, according to Anatolia news agency.
He raised the possibility of sabotage, but didn't provide further details.
Kurdish rebels have been active in that area of the country and have attacked the same pipeline in the past.
The pipeline links the Iraqi city of Kirkuk with the Turkish port of Ceyhan and has a yearly capacity of 70 million tons of crude oil.
It has also been attacked on several occasions by insurgents following the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
