A rocket fired from Gaza slammed near the town of Gedera, about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from the border of the Gaza Strip, it said.
A three-month-old baby was lightly wounded as a result, it said.
Previous rockets fired from Gaza had reached about 40 kilometers (25 miles) inside Israel.
At least three other rockets that were fired Tuesday from Gaza landed without causing injuries, it said.
Israel unleashed its massive "Operation Cast Lead" against Hamas in its Gaza Strip stronghold Dec. 27 aiming to stop militants from firing rockets into Israel.
