The world's fourth-largest PC maker by shipments said the acquisition will position it to take advantage of the opportunities for growth in China's mobile internet market.
Lenovo sold Lenovo Mobile to its parent in 2008 to return its focus to the personal computer business.
On Friday, Lenovo said Lenovo Mobile has noticeably improved its financial position and market presence since 2008.
