Domestic traffic fell 4.3% in October to 1.03 million passengers, while international traffic dropped 6.7% to 436,600, GAP said in a filing with the Mexican Stock Exchange.
Total passenger traffic at GAP's busiest airport, in the central-western city of Guadalajara, slipped 1.7% to 544,500.
GAP said a number of airlines opened new routes last month, including Mexicana Link and Mexicana de Aviacion, Canadian airline West Jet and local budget carrier VivaAerobus.
The local Interacciones brokerage said in a note that total passenger traffic was better than expected, adding that it forecasts growth in GAP's numbers by mid-2010.
"The year-on-year comparisons are becoming softer," Interacciones said. "International traffic continued to be weak, but the rate of decline slowed."
Total passenger traffic fell 16% to 15.88 million during the first 10 months of 2009.
