"December production will be down by the amount that happened in November" Sechin told Dow Jones Newswires here, speaking through an interpreter. "January (output) might be the same."
Sechin didn't provide the total expected Russian output level.
Sechin is leading a contingent of Russian officials and oil company chief executives who will attend the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries' year-end meeting Wednesday. The group has asked non-OPEC producers including Russia to contribute oil-supply reductions of their own, although it remains unclear whether these countries will cooperate.
