The world's biggest producer of dynamic random access memory chips by revenue aims to raise DRAM prices "slightly" in its negotiations with personal computer makers, but currently some customers are resisting the price hike, the person, who declined to be named, told Dow Jones Newswires.
"It's not certain Samsung will be successful in raising prices given resistance from some customers," the person said.
DRAM makers negotiate their contract prices roughly twice a month with PC manufacturers.
Contract DRAM prices have hit record lows in December resulting in hefty losses for many of the world's DRAM producers.
