The party said that it will forge a coalition from five parties and one faction of the now-defunct People Power Party, most of whose other factions have moved to the newly formed Puea Thai party that would be excluded from the Democrat-led coalition government.
Last Tuesday, after months of antigovernment protests, the PPP formed by loyalists of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was dissolved by the Constitutional Court along with two other parties in the PPP-led, six-party coalition that is now in tatters.
