UPDATE: Implats Appoints Khotso Mokhele As Chairman
JOHANNESBURG -(Dow Jones)- Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (IMP.JO) Wednesday named Khotso Mokhele, former chairman of the South African arm of steel giant ArcleorMittal (MT), as its chairman with immediate effect.
Mokhele replaces Michael McMahon, who has been acting chairman since Oct. 22 when the Johannesburg-based company's board removed Fred Roux from the post due to tensions between him and other directors.
Mokhele has been a director at Implats, the world's second-largest platinum producer after Anglo Platinum Ltd. (AMS.JO), since 2004.
Roux last week resigned as a non-executive director and Implats at the time said he and the company had "agreed to go their separate ways in good faith, with mutual respect and with no further comment."
