Frazis, 44, is currently National Australia Bank Ltd.'s (NAB) Group Executive General Manager Development and New Business.
Frazis replaces Bruce McLachlan, who has been acting chief executive since June. Brad Cooper, the former head of the New Zealand arm, left in June to take up a role leading the merger planning of Westpac with St. George Bank.
McLachlan will resume his position of General Manager, Consumer, within the New Zealand business, Westpac said.
