Port Hedland January Iron Ore Shipments 15.06 Million Tons
- PERTH -(Dow Jones)- The Port Hedland Port Authority shipped 15.06 million metric tons of iron ore in January, according to an update on its Web site Wednesday. Exports were up 1.3% from December's 14.87 million tons, it said. It didn't provide individual breakdowns for major port users BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) and Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. (FMG.AU). Exports to China, the world's biggest iron ore importer, fell 1.2% to 11.04 million tons in January from December. Port Hedland is BHP's main Australian iron ore port.
