- NEW DELHI -(Dow Jones)- India's government doesn't propose to auction radio bandwidth for mobile television and fourth generation, or 4G, telecom services, the federal junior minister for information and broadcasting said Tuesday. "As of now there is no policy for the provisioning of mobile TV services. Therefore, the question of auction of spectrum does not arise," C.M. Jatua told lawmakers in the lower house of parliament. The government recently submitted its views to the broadcast regulator for further recommendations on issues relating to mobile TV services, he said. "Further, the Department of Telecommunications has intimated that they have no proposal to auction spectrum for 4G technology," he said. -By R.
